Professional Career includes experiences as Staff Nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, Professor of Nursing,  Director of Nursing in an academic environment and Primary Care ARNP in free clinics.

My personal interests include working in several volunteer organizations to help the homeless.  I also work with the Linus Project making quilts for children in crisis. I walk 5 miles 4 mornings/week with a group of 4 ladies. We meet at 5am and have done this for 22 years! I love walks in the mountains, on the beach.  I love line dancing and couples dancing, although my husband is not too fond of dancing! I am known for dragging him to the dance floor!  My daughter, her husband and their two sons know of my focus on health and walking.  However, it is rare that I can get any family member to participate with me in a 5K or 10K!  I continue dream of a marathon or half marathon in my future!  My plans for a half Marathon are in my "to do list" this year!

Of course, nursing is my passion and I am known to make late night house calls or phone calls to friends, neighbors and family when symptoms are challenging them to make decisions about health care.  I believe there is no better profession than nursing.  Opportunities abound in nursing to make a difference in the lives of others!

I also have a passion for teaching!  Making a difference in the life of a student is a joy without measure.  I love sharing what I know about nursing and I am always looking to learn more and do more in nursing education.
