I have been in the nursing field in one way another since I could drive a car.  I started as a CNA when I was 16 years old and worked at a long-term care center for children.  I went to LPN school as a vo-tech course as a senior in high school and LOVED it.  I graduated when I was 19 years old and worked in a wide variety of nursing positions from geriatric care to home health to hospital care.  I found the NICU during this time and when I graduated with my BSN in 2009, I started in the NICU as an RN and have never looked back.  I am now a Nurse Practitioner in the NICU and have loved babies every single day.  I love all patient population of course, but babies have certainly filled my heart.

The only thing I love more than babies (and family of course!) are students!  I LOVE knowing the things I do and say can help a student take just as good of care of patients as I would have.  I appreciate that each one of my students have taken the giant leap to help the world be a better place one day at a time.

For fun we love to sail, travel, and anything water or family related.  I am originally from Oklahoma have three children, 22, 14, and 16 years old and just had my first grandson.  I am super excited for this next chapter in our lives.

One thing to know about me.  I am NOT here for me.  I am here for YOU. When I said I love students, I really meant it.  If you are willing to help yourself, you can bet I'll be right next to you to support you.  If you are struggling, you HAVE to reach out. Of all things I've studied in life, one wasn't mind reading (slacker, I know!).  Please use my office hours, they are intended to help you be successful.  You may email me and request different hours if needed and if I can accommodate, I certainly will.
