Greg Taylor
I have been involved in the field of public safety since the age of 15. I began this involvement in North Carolina as both a junior firefighter and junior rescue squad member, now known as Explorers, where I climbed the ladder to a leadership position as junior captain in both departments. After reaching age 18, I became certified as an EMT and continued training until reaching the level of Paramedic. After serving for a number of years in both EMS and the Fire Service, I began a career in law enforcement. I have served in capacities from patrol officer to traffic homicide investigator. I retired from the Florida Highway Patrol in 2010 and began a career in EMS education as a full time instructor in the First Responder Magnet Program at Pinellas Park High School where I instruct the freshman and junior classes in the medical components of the program. I serve as their American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor and assist in the instruction of basic firefighting skills. I believe in a “hear it, see it, do it” instructional philosophy and use scenario based instruction to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the student.
