As I begin my 40th year of teaching, I am only too aware of the changes that have been made in the "world of communication."
The art of communication is a life skill and is readily incorporated into our lives via technology and, believe it or not, via "one-on-one" situations. My goal in teaching is to provide insight into how we can most effectively communicate to others in a variety of situations.  I graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV, with a BA degree in Language Arts and, after having relocated to the St. Louis, MO metro area, I graduated from Southern Illinois University with an MA degree in Speech Communications. Although I recently retired from the state of Illinois, I am in no way ready to retire from teaching.  My passion in education stems from the fact that I appreciate challenging ideas and concepts and will do my best to provide the best outcomes with a variance of communication styles - both written and oral.
