Dear student, welcome to my homepage!

Are you curious to know more about my background and how you will gain from it?

I bring over 25 years of practical management experience working in international banking, wealth management, banking, investments, commercial finance, and capital markets. During my tenure in the banking sector, I worked for Fortune 500 Banks including  Bank of America and The Bank of Montreal where I held leadership positions as VP of International Banking, Premier Banking Manager, and Market Development Manager.

As a Professor of Management and International Business, I have been committed to developing students as The Next Generation of Global Leaders. To accomplish this mission, I have established collaborations with universities and organizations in the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Over the years my students have gained a Global Mindset by participating in grant-funded international initiatives, competitions with foreign universities, study abroad programs, bi-national and tri-national virtual courses, and global cultural exchanges. Additionally, the courses I teach are designed to not only give you a robust theoretical foundation; but most importantly, a practical application to various industries and the real business world. This is how you gain a strong academic and industry perspective.

I hold a Doctor of Business Administration Degree and an MBA with a specialization in Organizational Management.

Giving back to those in need has always been one of my values; thus, for the last 18 years, I have been honored to serve as Secretary and Finance Committee Advisor for Hearts Afire; a faith-based International Medical Organization dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of under-resourced people in more than 11 countries.

I was born in Bogota, Colombia; moved to Wichita, Kansas back in 1991… got myself a cool pair of cowboy boots to properly dance the “Achy Breaky Heart”; then in a business deal, I traded the boots for a nice set of sandals when I moved to Tampa, Florida… best business deal ever!

My hobbies include collecting model cars, racing my red V8 machine, and playing tennis.

Now that you know more about my background, I invite you to explore the world! …I love meeting new students, contact me with any questions.
