Welcome to my instructor page! I've been teaching in Pinellas County for over 16 years. I earned a bachelor's degree from Eckerd College and my Master's Degree in Florida Studies from USFBayboro. I've taught college writing for five years. Before that, I had been a middle school English teacher, a journalism instructor, and a Title 1 reading and writing instructor.

Florida Studies is a Liberal Arts degree and it was perfect for me since my interests include Florida history, Regionalism, Modernism, and Civil Rights Literature. The program allowed me to combine my love of literature with my curiosity about cultural landscapes. Recently, I've focused on architecture and how certain buildings and parks become the heart of the city.  

As a freelance writer, I have been published in the Tampa Bay Times, produced newsletters for physicians groups, two local hospitals, and contributed to several business publications.

In Composition I & II  you'll learn how to  research a topic, organize a paper, form an opinion, and write a convincing and logical argument supporting your point of view. Be sure to come to class with a healthy curiosity and a willingness to consider many points of view on any topic.
