Thank you for visiting my faculty profile at St. Petersburg college (SPC). Here, you will know a little bit more about me and my academic interests.

First, I am a thinker and a writer as well as a 12 Monkeys' time traveler. I hold a doctorate in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA), a Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Development Policy and Administration from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science magna cum laude from the Université de Montréal in Quebec, Canada.

As a SPC faculty, I teach international relations and political science courses. Prior to coming to SPC, I taught at the University of Tampa (UT), Hillsborough Community College (HCC), and, briefly, at Keiser University. I have experience teaching various political science courses, including American government, International Relations, Introduction to Political Science, and Comparative Politics.

In general, as a political science instructor, I strive to instill the values of critical thinking and public service commitment to my students. My pedagogical philosophy emphasizes critical interaction and revolves around the ‘three Cs’ because of its focus on critical, civil and civic student engagement. My goal is to help diverse 21st century learners develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills required to become leaders for a diverse, multicultural, and global society.

As a scholar, I am particularly interested in the developmental aspect of politics and public policy as well as transformative political and administrative processes in developing parts of the world. Thus far, my research has sought to understand past and contemporary processes of transformation of the state apparatus and public policies in Africa which, purportedly, seek to ameliorate the living conditions of the world’s poorest communities as well as the functioning of African states and public bureaucracies. My research has appeared in various scholarly outlets, including Public Administration and DevelopmentDevelopment Policy Review, Small-Scale Forestry, and Forests, Trees, and Livelihoods.

Beyond my academic endeavors, I am also a political analyst concerned about the future of the world. As such, I regularly contribute to political discussions about democratic governance and accountability in Central Africa. Some of these opinion pieces have appeared in various French and English-speaking news outlets, including Jeune Afrique, Gabon Review, and The Conversation. I also have been interviewed by news outlets such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and World Politics Review (WPR) about politics in the central African region. Finally, from time to time, I also provide political analysis to investment funds and private economic firms as part of their country political risk analysis.

Last but not least, on a more personal note, I am a big soccer (football) fan. A lifelong Bayern München fan I must add. I also adore reading, discovering new things, music, spending time with my family (my wife and three kids), as well as relaxing when I am not working.

If you have any questions or feel the need to reach me for any reasons, please email me at SPC.
