Background:

As an SPJC graduate, I am able to easily relate to my students.  After many years in the field of education, I have found my home at SPC.  I worked as a sign language interpreter in Hillsborough County high schools for approximately four years prior to working as a guidance counselor for another four years.  

Although I learned an immense amount during my time in the secondary setting, I thoroughly enjoy working with my current student population.  I am constantly challenged, motivated, and encouraged to improve and innovate my teaching to create an engaging and interactive teaching and learning environment for my students.  As Department Chair, I am also able to work in an administrative capacity and assist students in more general areas.  This hybrid position provides me variety and fulfillment and something new every day.
