A practicing RVT with experience in companion animal, small ruminant and poultry medicine, I earned my Baccalaureate Degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine and am credentialed in public health, earning a CPH from the National Board of Public Health Examiners. I regularly work on veterinary public health projects internationally, most recently in Haiti, Bangladesh and Mali, West Africa.

My primary professional interest is in One Health and equitable global access to sustainable health practices for disease prevention focusing on culturally sensitive gender mainstreaming practices in animal agriculture. I have post-graduate certificates in Veterinary Homeland Security, Epidemiological & Biostatistical Methods for Public Health, and Occupational Health and Safety.

My personal interests include reading, yoga, traveling and all things public health. The teaching philosophy that I hold most dear to never stop learning -- we have much to teach each other and the lessons can be fascinating!
