Hi! I am Lou LaGrande. I live in Seminole, Florida. Seminole is about 40 minutes away from Tampa, Florida.  I prefer to be called Mr. LaGrande or Mr. L

I am a retired educator, teacher, administrator and college instructor, living with my wife here in Pinellas County.  I am also a retired Coast Guard Reservist. My wife and I are very fortunate in that all of our grandchildren, ages 10-18 live within 40 minutes of our home. Needless to say we spend lots of time with family.

I received my Bachelor’s degree and Masters from the University of South Florida, Go Bulls. My Masters is in History and Education meeting certification requirements to teach on the elementary, secondary and college level.

My favorite things to do are reading, taking care of grandchildren, traveling and teaching. I am very happy to be working with SPC.  I am also working part time for the University of South Florida.

The latest book that I have read is The American Story by David M. Rubenstein.. This is an awesome book which deals with 15 different historinans and their personal perspective on the great personalities in our history.  You will see the rusults of my latest readings in some of your class work.

My grandchildren, 2 boys and  2 girls , keep my wife and I busy. They all love to talk, tease and play all sorts of games, board games PC games and family games. I can’t remember the last time I won at Uno.

My travels have taken my wife and I throughout the United States and several countries in Europe. 

I am looking forward to working with all of you over the next few months.
