Educational Background:

I have earned a BA English from Arkansas State University, a MA Humanities from California State University, and PhD Humanities from Warnborough University.

My Teaching Philosophy:

Enquiry-based learning in the Humanities promotes the discipline as providing 'career ready' skills applicable to any professional field and life in general.  One key facet in my courses is to compel students to think, analyze thoughts and actions in their various creative forms, formulate positions, defend those positions, and predict future outcomes.  Students who learn to think critically and communicate effectively will be the students who will have the greatest success in the workforce, and the Humanities provide a wonderful environment to master these skills.

Interests & Overview:

I have held various positions in my life ranging from Soldier to Stockbroker to Hotel Manager to Academic Officer in the Publishing/Education Services sector.  I have traveled extensively, especially to South America and Southern Europe.  All of these things have shaped my teaching, perceptions on education, and life in general.
