I have been teaching English Language and Composition for over twenty years. I worked in the community college system in California and was also a teacher trainer. I have taught English in other countries including Russia, South Korea, and Spain. I am also an author (so far of two books) and I am a Russian translator and have translated a book and many other writings. I love working with words and teaching students. My teaching philosophy is the following: students learn what they want and need to learn; my job is to facilitate learning, so I believe creating a beneficial atmosphere for students is most important, as well as explaining things simply and clearly. I hope my students will ask the questions they want to have answered and I know they will come to understand those answers. I enjoy my retirement and love teaching and writing so I plan to continue that. Besides enjoying Florida, we also live part of the year in Spain. I enjoy hiking, gardening traveling and spending time with my partner, Sue, and our two cats.
