Hi everyone,

Just a few fun facts about me.  I'm a graduate of Cumberland School of Law and I was in practice for over 17 years.  I received my undergraduate degree from Florida State University, but, prior to attending FSU I attended St. Petersburg College when it was known as St. Petersburg Junior College. I received my A.A. degree from SPJC.

I operated my own law practice for a number of years and joined SPC as a full-time instructor/law professor in 2007. During my years of practicing law I was a trial attorney and very involved with the juvenile dependency system representing children and foster-parents.

I founded a non-profit organization for children, "Children's Best Interest First, Inc." which focuses on placing the child's interest ahead of the parents for juvenile dependency issues. Our goal is also to revamp the dependency system by changing the legislation.

I'm an advisor for Golden Key International Honour Society and that keeps me busy, but I'm also our Paralegal Studies Internship and Job Placement Coordinator, so if you need help in that area let me know.

When I'm not being a mom to my son, my interests include scuba diving, running and traveling.  My favorite football team is the Tampa Bay Bucs and I love to cook.

I'm in the process of developing a study abroad course in Comparative Law for Portugal and that course will launch in summer 2019 so be on the look out for it.  It will be interdisciplinary and a blast!
