I am orginally from a small town in Northwestern Ontario.  It's a mill town specializing in making pulp for paper production.  I still have family there and try to visit every summer.  As a kid we spent the summers at our cottage on a lake.  Totally off the grid!  No phone, TV, running water, or electricity.  It's still very much the same except for solar power and a water pump.  It's a great place to totally disconnect and be with family.

I have been in Florida since 1982 and was a graduate of St. Pete Jr. College in 1990.  I earned my BS in Cardiopulmonary Science from UCF in 1993 and  have worked as a Respiratory Therapist for the last 27 years. I specialized in Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care and have been at Tampa General Hospital for the last 20 years.  I started teaching as an adjunct clinical instructor for SPC 3 years ago and became fulltime faculty this past May.  I am a PALS instructor, and certfied in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.  I am currently enrolled at Northeastern University in a Masters of Science in Respiratory Care Leadership.

In my free time I like to be with my family, travel, read, and have been a hockey fan all my life.  I've been a Lightning season tickets holder for 18 years.  Go Bolts!  I was at game 7 in 2004 when they won Lord Stanley's Cup.  Very exciting!  Hope to see them win it again.

The field of education is relatively new to me and I find that I am learning everyday, just like my students.  I look forward to my intereaction with them and am glad to be part of their educational expirence.  SPC  has given me the opportunity to share my knowledge and expirence with the next generation of Respiratory Therapists.
