Education: BA from the University of Florida in Secondary Education Social Sciences
MA from the University of Florida in Community College Education Social Sciences
EDS/EDD/PHD from the University of Florida in K-12 Administration, Higher Ed. Administration with majors in statistics, evaluation,
planning, research, staff-program development, finance and management.
Work Experience: I began teaching 7-12 social studies in 1971. After the masters I continued teaching 7-12 ; served as assistant principal
at two public schools and added part-time college instruction in 1973. After the doctorate program public school planning
and research coordinator/supervisor positions were held. From 1980 to 1995 I was a program development manager for
Hillsborough County Government. From 1995 to 2007 I served as Planning and Research Coordinator/Superisor for
the Hillsborough County Sheriff.
My teaching philosophy is to facilitate critical thinking in all subject matter. While you will forget dates, names and detail;
if you apply the information learned to current and future life experiences the learning evolves and is highly applicable
to self-actualization.
Personal interests include reading, sailing and rescuing cats living on the street and finding them homes.
I am also an aerobics instructor (30 years) and currently teach classes at Powerhouse Gym at Channelside.
