Dr. Williams lives in Odenton, MD with her rescue cat Crookshanks. After living in Florida for 20 years, she moved to Maryland two years ago to be closer to family. She taught at several institutions of higher learning since 1989 in the areas of literacy, elementary education, and hgher education. She has taught undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students and has been semi retired since 2012. She has presented research at the the American Educational Research Association, the National Reading Conference, the International Reading Conference, as well as the Action in Teacher Education Conference. She has published in numerous literacy journals including The Reading Teacher and various annuals.
