I practiced international and domestic law in New York City for 10 years at Arnold & Porter LLP. I worked on issues involving international human rights law, corruption and bribery, international business transactions, and litigations involving financial institutions. I have a Juris Doctor and a Masters of International Relations from the University of Toronto in Canada (yes, I am a Canadian). I have been teaching business law and international law courses since 2008. As for my educational philosophy, I believe in "slow" education, which doesn't mean we move slowly (in fact, my classes often move very quickly). What it means is that I believe that as students of a field (whether law, business, or politics), we must engage topics at a deeper level, so that we understand not just the "whats" and "wheres," but also the "whys". Understanding the "why" develops your instincts such that when you are faced with a legal, business or political problem in the real world, you will be better prepared to present an answer.
