My interests and experience in biology are largely related to ecology and fisheries biology, completing internships with US Fish & Wildlife in Buffalo, NY and at Mote Marine Laboratories in Sarasota, FL. I had been employed with the NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation in Cortland, NY before moving to FL. Prior to teaching at SPC starting in 2011, I had also taught at Buffalo State College and Manatee Community College.
I currently serve on the Advisory Board for Pinellas County Extension (Chair) and the Board for the Pinellas Beekeepers Association. I am a member of the FL Association of Environmental Professionals (Tampa Bay Chapter), the Community College Consortium for Heath and Safety Training (CCCHST)/ National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE), and American Association for the Advancement of Science. In addition, I am an eligible AP Environmental Science reader for ETS. More recently, I am working towards earning my master beekeeper credential through UF.
