Dr. Adeniji Odutola is a Professor in the Department of Applied Ethicc, College of Policy, Ethics & Legal Studies, St. Petersburg College. Before that, he was an Academic Department Chair and Professor for Applied Ethics for north campuses for ten years from August of 2012 to August of 2022. Before that, he was the Director of the Educational Studies Program, College of Education (COE) at SPC where he taught Research in Educational Studies, Education and Public Policy, Comparative and International Education and Senior Capstone Thesis in Educational Studies. He was also responsible for student success in the COE. Before that, Dr. Odutola was the Director for the National Center for Teacher Transformation when he joined SPC in October 1, 2003. 

Before that, Dr. Odutola worked for the Florida Education Standards Commission, Florida Department of Education for 15 years. The first 9 years he was a Policy Analyst and the last 6 years he was the Executive Director of the Standards Commission for the state of Florida. He also worked in a public university for three years conducting research and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. 

The PHI 1600, philosophical ethics course introduces students to a critical thinking model and a variety of ethical theories, both consequential and non-consequential, that aide them in delineating ethical dilemmas and how to follow a logical and systematic model in arriving at options for resolution. This course allows students to utilize logic and reason to find their own truth on a variety of issues and to become independent thinkers.
