Charrie Moscardini is a former award-winning journalist and non-fiction and fiction writer who has taught a variety of classes ranging from Freshman Composition to Fiction Writing at various colleges and universities including St. Petersburg College, Eckerd College, the University of South Florida, and the University of Tampa. She began her career as an investigative reporter for the Lynchburg News, where she won two first place awards for in-depth, investigative reporting from the Virginia Press Association. She was then hired by the St. Petersburg Times, now the Tampa Bay Times, where she was an investigative reporter and subsequently promoted to the Editorial Board, where she wrote editorials, op-ed columns, and in-depth stories for the paper's Sunday Perspective Section. Her novel, Falling into the Sun, was a finalist in the 2010 Foreword Reviews Book of the Year Awards. Most recently, Charrie served as the Community Development Specialist for the Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center (MWNFC), where she brought in more than $180,000 in grant money to augment the center's food pantry and after-school and summer camp youth programs. She also initiated and was on the steering committee of what became the center's signature fundraiser, Bands on the Bay, now in its 8th year, which nets an average of $20,000 annually. She is currently a member of the MWNFC Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Board of Dirctors of the Gunston School Foundation, Washington D.C., which provides educational scholarships for elementary, middle, and high school students with special needs, who require specialized schooling.

Charrie received a BA in History from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, and a MA in English Literature from the University of South Florida, Tampa.

She is married and has three grown children. She lives in Safety Harbor, Fl, with her husband of 39 years.
