I began my teaching experience here at SPC in 1993 as an adjunct professor, but my asssociation goes back far beyond. I am an alumnus, having earned my Associate of Arts degree here in May, 1974. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology and my Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of South Florida.

My educational path was not linear.  I, like many of my students, have had many starts and stops on my educational journey.   I have two children; a daughter, Sara, and a son, Aaron. My daughter has her doctorate in Psychology and works for Hope Counseling.  My son has a Master's degree and is teaching in the Boston, MA area at the Boston Renaissance Charter School. My husband, Marty,  is currently employed as a bus driver for Pinellas County Schools.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing bass guitar and sing vocals with my husband, Marty, (Those Lovebirds) and with an Irish band,( Evergreen).  In years past, we were often included in WMNF radio music events at Skpper's Smokehouse and played several festivals and local venues.Since the start of the pandemic, not much performing.  I also enjoy walking in the mornings and working out at at home now with Team Body Project.  I enjoy snow skiing in the mountains of Colorado during our spring break, a 25 year tradition.  I was fortunate to be the lead instructor for the Ireland Study Abroad for 4 years from May of 2011 to May of 2014.  I am honored to serve as the advisor for the Eta Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on the Gibbs/DTMT campuses. I also serve as the secretary for the FGO campus council on the Gibbs campus, and as a faculty senator to the colleg-wide FGO.  I truly enjoy my teaching at the college and am proud to be affiliated with St. Petersburg College. I hope that it is apparent to my students.
