I  am an alumnus of the University of the Vermont and came back to teach in the Department of Dental Hygiene after 15 years of dental hygiene practice in my husband’s general dentistry practice. I have been teaching FT since 1997, first at UVM and then at Vermont Tech when our program moved to the state college system in 2004.  I truly love all aspects of dental hygiene practice. I have a passion for teaching and my goal is to inspire my students to develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills that are imperative to evidence-based dental hygiene practice. Currently, I teach preventive dental hygiene theory and practice to first and second year dental hygiene students and periodontics to second-year students. I also coordinate the first and second year preclinical and clinical experiences as well as teach in the third year clinic. I teach Advanced Periodontics and Research Methods to our online fourth year students and BS degree completion students. I have been adjunct faculty at SPC since 2006.

Professionally, I am a Past President of the Vermont Dental Hygienists' Association and still serve in varying capacities. I have also served as a Consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation. I am the Treasurer of a non-profit dental practice in Addison County, Vermont. In addition to my professional life, I am married and reside with my husband and our chocolate lab in Middlebury, VT. I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening and fitness walking in my spare time.
