Sheree L. Greer, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, left her career as a business analyst in 2005 to pursue writing full-time. Since then, her work has been published in the Story Week Reader, Bike Shorts, Hair Trigger Literary Journal, the Windy City Times, Jazz.net, Reservoir, and Fictionary Magazine. She has been a featured reader at Webster’s Wine Bar with Serendipity Theater 2nd Story Collective, Women and Children’s First Bookstore, and The Center on Halsted. She was a guest speaker at Affinity’s Burning Bowl New Year celebration and the organization’s “Saving Our Sisters, Saving Ourselves” Anti-Violence Weekend where she taught creative writing workshops. She won Honorable Mention in the Union League of Chicago Civic and Arts Foundation Writing Competition for a non-fiction collection of stories. As a research assistant for the Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media, she worked on a variety of projects investigating the cross-pollination of art and social activism and as a freelance writer has completed projects for Affinity Community Services, Signature Christian Dance Company, Cool Classics! With award-winning journalist Mara Tapp, and national press releases and articles for the Hands Off Assata! Birthday Campaign. She teaches creative writing at Milwaukee Academy each summer and completed a VONA/Voices creative writing residency at University of Milwaukee. Ms. Greer recently published a short story collection, Once and Future Lovers, and completed her first novel, What Has Never Been Taught. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Technology and Human Resources from Marquette University and her Master of Fine Arts in writing from Columbia College Chicago.
