PERSONAL:  Currently my family and I live in Gulfport, Florida.  I am the first and only one in my immediate family (mom, dad, and 3 younger sisters) that has graduated from both high school and college. I have been married for almost 30 years to a very wonderful man and we have 2 beautiful daughters ages 19 and 15. Erika is in 10th grade (SPC Colligate Program) and Katie is in college (SPC). They are both straight A/B students. My husband, Daniel, is a medical student. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:  I’ve been in the medical field for 25+ years. I started as a Disabilities Specialist working with handicapped children in a Head Start program (In Ks). I then became a CNA and worked on a Med/Surg unit (KS) as well as Home Health CNA. While working as a CNA I began my studies in the field of Nursing. After graduating and taking the boards my first job was Psych Nursing/Gero Psych. I really enjoyed working with this group of people (Ks). From there my family and I decided to move from the lovely state of Kansas (do not miss it at all), with all of its lovely tornadoes (eeckk), to the beautiful state of Florida (aaahhhh). Since living in Florida my job list has included, Med/Surg, Roux-n-y Gastric Stapling Unit Charge Nurse, Chemotherapy in a Dr's Office, Nursing Home Floor Nurse/Charge Nurse/Wound Care Nurse, MDS for a Nursing Home, Dr's Office that specialized in Laser Spine Surgery. St. Petersburg hospital on PCU. In 2009 I had the opportunity to work with 3rd semester Medical Students and "play patient" as they begin to work on their skills for obtaining history and physicals I also had the opportunity to facilitate Behavioral Classes.  I have worked as a theory instructor, lab instructor, and clinical instructor at a local school.

FUN AND GAMES:  We live near the water, so fishing, swimming, and just laying on the beach. Cooking, I love new recipes. Trying to keep up with my 2 daughters and Husband.

Future Plans: Include completing my Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice, so that I can work with my husband once he completes his MD.
