Adam Davis
Adam Davis is a St. Petersburg College alumnus and earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology in 2012 while concurrently working as a laboratory assistant. During his bachelor’s program, Adam was mentored by Dr. Raymond E. Menard on an undergraduate research project focused on bacterial chemical communication known as “quorum sensing” in the bioluminescent bacterium Vibrio fisheri. He then attended the University of South Florida, where he worked under Dr. James T. Riordan studying the genetic basis of virulence in enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (O157:H7, EHEC) to determine part of its ability to regulate specific virulence factors such as its ability to attach to human intestinal cells and acid resistance mechanisms. He ultimately received his Master of Science (M.S.) in Microbiology in December of 2016.
