My focus is preparing you to be employable for your future in a globalized economy and multi-cultural community.

In an effort to bring the real world into the classroom, I borrow from my professional experiences in the insurance industry. Engaging you, collaborative and discovery learning, and centering on student critical thinking skills charachterize our class time.

I began teaching college math in 2000. Over the years, I have taught Calculus, Gen Ed courses (algebra, trig, stats, and liberal arts), and developmental courses to a variety of students (from undecided through pre-med).

My higher education background includes extensive online course development and curriculum redesign (online, blended and face-to-face for Algebra, Stats, Liberal Arts math and Linear Algebra). I have worked on STEM grants (Science, technology, engineering and math). I have created and contributed many digital learning objects to educational repositories such as Florida’s Orange Grove. I currently hold six certifications from Quality Matters (distance education quality certifications).

My current research areas relate to internationalization in higher education; assessment and instrument development; mixed methods research; and organizational change and leadership practices.

My academic credentials include a B.A. in pure Mathematics (University of Iowa); M.S. in Probability and Statistics (Marquette University). I am currently working on my Ph. D. in Higher Ed and Leadership (Barry University) where I am a doctoral candidate completing my dissertation.
