Dr. Ana Arellano
I completed my Ph.D. in Marine Science with a concentration in Chemical Oceanography from University of South Florida USF. My dissertation helped the understanding of carbon cycling in coastal areas where groundwater sources are significant. My research interests include fluorescence and absorption of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) and carbon cycling in estuaries with submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) contribution. I achieved my goal of acquiring a doctorate to be able to teach in a higher education institution. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach this Oceanography Lab. My new goal is to always be doing a service to my students.
