Dr. Jeanna Ojeda has 24+ years of college teaching experience and is Tarpon Campus SPC's Lead Faculty of EAP. EAP means "ESL for Academic Purposes" and its courses and curriculum focus on college and professional English language teaching and learning. 
Dr. Ojeda earned her Linguistics Ph.D. at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2004.
With the assistance of SPC Administration, she instituted the EAP Program of ESL courses at the S
PC Tarpon Springs Campus in 1999.

STEP ONE for NON-International Students:
FOLLOW THESE STEPS to Establist SPC Student Status:
        1. To begin, apply online for admission here:
          (Note: you will need to pay a $40 non-refundable application fee)

        2. Visit any SPC Campus Administration to
Establish Florida Residency: Visit SPC’s BUSINESS OFFICE

            You will be required to SHOW PROOF: ONE YEAR or more of living in Florida for lower tuition and fees:
          A Florida resident pays a much lower tuition rate than an out-of-state resident. If you are a Florida resident, you
          can easily establish residency during the online application process to qualify for the lower, in-state tuition rate by
          providing valid ID numbers for two of the following documents, issued at least 12 months before the first day of
          your classes, at least one with a photo:

          Florida Driver’s License or Florida ID
          Florida Vehicle Registration
          Florida Voter’s Registration

            Also SHOW: green card, OR U.S. citizenship, OR proof of asylum status
            You will be given your NEW STUDENT Number.

Next, if you choose to continue the process at Tarpon Springs Campus, contact ANY Counselor / Advisor, to begin the NEW ESL STUDENT ENROLLMENT for CLASSES PROCESS

  1. Now you need to schedule a time and a day to placement test (English levels in reading writing grammar and listening)
  2. After testing, Ms. Rania Samartzis or another SPC Student Service Specialist will contact you by phone or email to come in to register for classes with a counselor. PLEASE make sure you keep your email and phone ALWAYS updated with SPC to receive all information and correspondence.
  3. You must return to St. Petersburg College to complete the registration process with any SPC Counselor/Advisor. Ask the Front Desk Receptionist: "I need to enroll in my ESL classes."
  4. After registering, submit payment. Students who register and pay early will receive a monetary credit at SPC’s Campus Barnes & Noble bookstore! See Below ... STEP TWO for PAYMENT details.
  5. Also, you will be asked to have your high school transcripts evaluated:
