I hold a B.S. in Biology from Emory University and a Ph. D. in Ecology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!).  I am an Adjunct Instructor at St. Petersburg College, teaching biology, and oceanography.  I also work at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, in downtown St. Petersburg.  My research there focuses on the seagrass ecosystems found in our coastal waters of Florida. As a teacher, my priorities are provide students the learning opportunities and assistance to become firmly grounded in the basic concepts of biology. I expect my students to apply their knowledge and to be able to explain what they are studying.
