Greetings, Students! My name is Prof. Ada Ward-Timmons and I will be your instructor for the Spring 2017 session. My educational background includes a dual bachelor's degree in elementary education and emotional disturbance and a master's degree in educational leadership. My professional training is comprised of 34 years in the field of education and 14 years in social/mental health services. I have served at the K-12 level in elementary education, special education, mathematics, and management. At the post secondary level, I have served in business English; EFL reading, writing, and communication; and management. My educational service has been in public and private sectors, domestically and abroad. My clinical services have been as a counselor/supervisor and a clinician in the private sector in the United States. The years 2007-2010 were spent in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in Kuwait as an educator. The unique cultural experience gained in these countries has greatly enhanced my career as an educator and a social service professional.
My philosophy of education is that knowledge is power earned and maintained through lifelong learning. A lifelong learner is one whose goal is to attain the highest potential possible. It is my desire as an educator to facilitate the learning of all students toward their highest peak. I hope to whet students appetite for learning such that they will become self-directed lifelong learners in their pursuit toward self-actualization.
Students, it is my pleasure to serve as your instructor. Welcome! We have a wonderful and exciting journey head. Lets get started!
