I attended local public schools in Pinellas County, graduating from Dixie Hollins High School. I attended St. Petersburg Junior College then completed my degree in English Education at Florida State University. I also earned my Master's degree from FSU.
I taught English at Seminole and Northeast High Schools, then I became a school administrator working as an assistant principal at Bay Point Middle and Dixie Hollins High. I began the Center for Advanced Technologies as its founding director. After three years there I became a principal at Osceola and Largo Middle Schools as well as the principal of Lakewood High School. I am now retired from the public schools.
I currently work as an adjuct professor here at SPC.
