Aimee Stubbs is the Director of Accessibility Services at St. Petersburg College.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Specific Learning Disabilities, a Master’s Degree in Varying Exceptionalities, and an Education Specialist Degree in Counseling.  Prior to working for St. Petersburg College, Aimee worked for the Pinellas County School System for 15 years.  Aimee started her career as a high school teacher for students with varying exceptionalities.  She taught all grade levels throughout her career, including a wide range of academic subjects and Learning Strategies. In addition, she assisted in writing a grant and served as lead teacher and counselor in the On Campus Intervention Program, an alternative to suspension program for high school students.  Her last five years at Largo High School were spent as a high school Guidance Counselor, Tech Prep Career Connector, and College Reach-Out Coordinator.  In addition, Aimee served as an Intern Supervisor for the University of South Florida and a district trainer for Conflict Resolution and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention.  Aimee joined the St. Petersburg College Disability Resources team at the Clearwater Campus in March of 2008.  She spent 5 years as a Disability Resources Specialist and taught Career and Life Planning at the Clearwater Campus before transferring to the Seminole Campus of SPC in January of 2013.  Aimee  became Director of Accessibility Services in January of 2015, and currently serves as co-chair of the Pinellas Interagency Networking Council for Students, the Bridging the Achievement Gap Advisory Board, the Ridgecrest 360 Initiative, Delta Kappa Gamma Key Women Educators Organization, and is the current President of the Florida Association on Higher Education and Disability. She has presented on the National level at conferences through the Association for Higher Education and Disability and provides supportive presentations and resources regarding access to various organizations, higher education institutions, local agencies and various K-12 school districts. Aimee has earned numerous awards and nominations, including CEC Rookie Teacher of the Year, Largo Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Educator Award, Disney American Teacher Recognition, 2007 Kraft-Custer Service and Teaching Award, and the 2011 SPC Clearwater Campus Performance Award.
