Dr. David Spohn, DBA, MBA

Dr. David Spohn received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Management from Liberty University in May of 1997. A year later, he enrolled in Florida International University in Miami, Florida. He received a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in International Business in May of 2000. During the following two years, he worked as an account executive with NIC Conquest in Naples, Florida. After the events of September 11, 2001, he joined the United States Army. As an Officer, he deployed multiple times (Iraq and Afghanistan) and commanded in the 82nd Airborne Division (deployed) and again in Washington DC (Headquarters Company, United States Army). Culminating in nearly 10 years of experience as an Officer, David resigned his commission from Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the Fall of 2011. Upon completing his time in the Army, David planned, coordinated, and funded a small private equity firm, and as principle trader and managing partner specialized in index trading and foreign currency. In August of 2014, he entered the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program in the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida. Upon completing his doctorate degree with a concentration in Finance in 2017, Dr. Spohn published research in Applied Finance and Accounting, Business and Management Studies, Applied Economics and Finance, Journal of Defense Management, and Review of Public Administration and Management while also acting as a journal referee for numerous international journals. Areas of interest include Finance, Operations Management, Real Estate, and Business/Sports Analytics.
