Since 1998 I have operated a small consulting agency providing research and statistical modeling services to the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.

With an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Florida, I worked as a teacher while attending graduate school. Upon completion of my graduate work at the University of South Florida, I worked in operations research and management with Florida Progress Corporation from 1986 through 1993. While completing a doctorate at The Florida State University, I worked in the Statistical Consulting Center and the Center for Educational Technology from 1990 through 1998.  I am currently an ALM candidate in government at the Harvard University Extension School.

My research interests include dynamic forecasting, structural equation modeling with latent variables and critical analysis of reason, ethics and political theory in government.  I have published articles in Quality Progress, Quality Engineering and coauthored a book "Successful Applications of Quality Systems in K-12 Schools."

I am an active volunteer with Pinellas County Schools, St. Vincent DePaul and First United Methodist Church.   I am fortunate to be married to Derry (Fisher) and we have four children and two dogs. I would rather read than watch television and some of my favorite books include: The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), Winter’s Tale (Mark Helprin), Moral Calculations (Laszlo Mero), The Protestant Work Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (Max Weber), The Limits of Power (Andrew Bacevich) and Velvet Elvis (Rob Bell).
