Welcome!

I'm Dr. Lori (Dolores) Puterbaugh.  I am an adjunct instructor at the Clearwater Campus of St. Petersburg College, in the Social Sciences Department.  My other professional activities are as a psychotherapist in private practice, as well as teaching at the graduate level. I also do some writing. This includes the books Toxic Mythology (2015) and 31 Days/31 Ways: Practical Psychology for the Frazzled Faithful, as well as ongoing work as American Thought Editor for USA Today Magazine.  My volunteer work in recent years has been primarily in grief/bereavement counseling, other counseling, and on air for 90.5/Spirit FM. Recent professional presentations at national and state conferences have been on treating insomnia and on self-care for therapists.

When time permits, I pursue art as a serious amateur/occasional professional; weather permitting, I paint outdoors weekly. Being in nature is good for me (and probably you, too).

My education includes an MS in Mental Health Counseling, PhD in Family Psychology and a four-year training in Lay Pastoral Ministry through the Diocese of St. Petersburg. I am licensed as a mental health counselor and as a marriage & family therapist in Florida.

My husband and I live in Seminole. Personal interests include art, reading, and writing.
