I became interested in science at an early age. I majored in Biology in college simply because it was my favorite subject in high school. After receiving my B.S. in Natural Sciences at Niagara Univ, I responded to a shortage of science teachers by earning an M.S. in Education. Joining the faculty at a public school system outside of Buffalo I taught science for 13 years. A winter mountaineering accident resulting in frostbite triggered my interest in medicine. I left teaching and went to medical school in Chicago at what is now Rosalind Franklin University. I completed my residency at the James Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa and opened a medical clinic devoted primarily to the treatment of limbs at risk from diabetes or circulatory disorders. Now as I prepare to retire from medicine I would like to use my experience by applying a practical knowlege of anatomy and physiology to my classes. I feel honored to start my students on a course I hope will end in a career in health care as rewarding as my own.
