My Teaching Philosophy:

The education of a country's citizens is the only difference between democracy and anarchy.  I feel teachers should inspire learning as well as relate the facts.  In my field particularly, I believe in showing students how a lack of knowledge can be as harmful as a good knowledge can be helpful.  I also believe that you have to have the opportunity to get to know students as individuals, with varying strengths and weaknesses, to best bring out and show them what opportunities would work best for them.  That is why I favor smaller colleges, with smaller classroom sizes.  In my fifteen years of teaching, I have learned without a doubt that individual attention and sincere concern make all the difference.
