Tom Morris
Tom Morris has been an audio recording engineer and producer since he and his brother Jim started Morrisound Recording in Tampa in 1981. He has produced and/or engineered a wide variety of local and national artists including platinum records by Seven Mary Three, Destiny’s Child and Trans-Siberian Orchestra, as well as albums by The Dixie Dregs, Morbid Angel, Coroner, Kreator and many more.
In addition, Morris has engineered and Co-produced several Grammy nominated albums by Chuck Owen’s Jazz Surge. 2017’s “Whispers in the Wind” garnered 4 nominations, including Best Large Jazz Ensemble recording.
Morris earned a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering and worked for DuPont before switching gears to audio engineering. He has been teaching audio production oriented courses at SPC since 2015.
