My degrees include a : BS in Biology from University of Illinois, Chicago, an MS In Cellular and Molecular Biology from Florida A and M University and a PhD in Pharmacology from Wayne State University School of Medicine My research interests are in cellular signal transduction pathways and how they effect cellular growth and cancer development. In addition to my degrees I was also a Crime Lab analyst at the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory. I was involved in setting up the DNA typing laboratory at the crime lab and was recognized as an expert witness in forensic serology.
Current research projects at SPC Gibbs involving the study of an antibiotic producing microbe,the antimicrobial effects of various spices and herbs, biofilm formation,Protein and DNA analysis. I mentor students interested in obtaining hands on experience in microbiology, molecular and cell biology.
