Mr. Chris Lumia started his career as an adult education teacher for Hillsborough County Schools, and then transitioned into higher education.  From 2008 through 2014, he served with the College of Education at St. Petersburg College in various roles, most recently as the Internship Program Director.  Mr. Lumia is currently a technology trainer for My Florida Regional MLS.

Mr. Lumia has a master's degree in business administration and a specialist's degree in higher education leadership.  He has an extensive background in using technological systems to enhance instructional goals and in techniques for mentoring and inducting new teachers.  Mr. Lumia also has a background in business and real estate, and likes to find synergies between business entities and educational institutions. He is a founding board member and treasurer of Creating Jobs, Inc. (www.creatingjobs.org), a 501(c)(3) organization that trains and mentors entrepreneurs from impoverished communities around the globe. 

Chris Lumia lives in Clearwater with his wife Taryn, who is the music teacher and performing arts director at St. John Vianney Catholic School in St. Pete Beach. Chris and Taryn enjoy running 10Ks, visiting state and county parks, spending time with family, and spending time at home with their three cats and crested gecko.
