Dr. Jeffrey Lindsey has served in a variety of roles in the fire and EMS arena for the past 30 years.  He has served as a firefighter, paramedic, dispatcher, educator, coordinator, deputy chief, and chief. Dr. Lindsey is retired from the fire service. He has held various positions in fire and EMS including the firefighter for Largo Fire Rescue, FL; Assistant Fire Chief for Alexandria Fire Department, VA; Fire Chief for Estero Fire Rescue, FL.

 He is an experienced leader, educator, lecturer, author, and consultant in emergency services.

 He is an associate member of the Pre-hospital Research Forum, representative to the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education EMS degree committee, liaison for the IAFC EMS section to ACEP, and a number of other appointments through his career. He served on the inaugural National EMS Advisory Council and was the safety chairperson of the Council. He is the past member of the State of Florida EMS Advisory Council, vice –chair of the Florida Fire Chief’s EMS section, NAEMT Governor representing Florida, board member of NAEMSE, and Chairperson of the Strategic Planning committee for the Lee County Fire Chief’s Association.

 He was a monthly columnist for JEMS, a national EMS journal for three years on product reviews. He is a columnist for firerehab.com and is has had authored numerous fire and EMS texts for Brady publishing. He has also published numerous research papers.

 He serves as the Chief Learning Officer for Health and Safety Institute who produces 24-7 EMS and 24-7 Fire videos.

 In his role as Fire Chief of Estero Fire Rescue, he served as the South Division Incident Commander during major events. He was part of the Area Command for Lee County EOC. Dr. Lindsey has been involved in a number of large events and served within the incident command system at the upper level including hurricane Charley, and a number of wildland fires. He has also been involved in the preparation for a number of other hurricanes and tropical storms. In addition, he was part of the command staff for the earthquake of 2011, two hurricanes and a flash flood, Occupy Alexandria, and the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 for Alexandria Fire Department.

 He started his career in Carlisle, Pennsylvania as a volunteer firefighter/EMT. In 1985, Dr. Lindsey pioneered the first advanced life support service in Cumberland County, PA. Dr. Lindsey has experience in various environments from the Philadelphia Fire Department to Estero Fire Rescue.

 He holds an Associate degree in Para-medicine from Harrisburg Area Community College, a Bachelor degree in Fire and Safety from the University of Cincinnati, a Master degree in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida and an earned Ph.D. in Instructional Technology/Adult Education from University of South Florida. Dr. Lindsey has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy.

 He has designed and developed various courses in fire and EMS. Dr. Lindsey is accredited with the Chief Fire Officer Designation for nine years. He also is a certified Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor III, and paramedic in the state of Florida. He holds a paramedic certificate for the state of Pennsylvania. He is also a certified instructor in variety of other courses. He was the 2011 recipient of the IAFC EMS section James O. Page EMS award.

 Dr. Lindsey has presented at various state, national, and International conferences. He serves as an expert witness a number of EMS and fire legal cases and has served as a national expert in numerous investigative reports.
