Dr Pelagia Kilgore

Dr. Pelagia Kilgore, a proud native of Tarpon Springs, embraces her Greek heritage and the strong sense of community it instilled in her. As an Associate Dean at St. Petersburg College, she blends her passion for lifelong learning with a deep commitment to student success and faculty collaboration. With her warmth, wisdom, and a touch of humor, Dr. Kilgore brings both intellectual depth and a personal touch to every interaction.
When she’s not shaping academic initiatives, Dr. Kilgore is often found exploring new destinations, sampling international cuisines, or planning her next travel adventure—because for her, discovery extends beyond the classroom.
A true mathematician at heart, Dr. Kilgore views leadership as an art of balance, much like math itself, always seeking the right angle to guide success.
With more than two decades of experience at St. Petersburg College, Dr. Kilgore has taught a wide array of mathematics courses, including Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, College Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra. She previously served as the Instructor in Charge of Mathematics at the Tarpon Springs Campus and now holds the position of Assistant Dean of Mathematics for North County.
Dr. Kilgore earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida, and her professional interests include creating engaging, safe learning environments in math education and promoting healthy, productive lifestyles through proper nutrition and exercise.
Outside of her academic work, Dr. Kilgore’s personal passions include spending time with her daughter and husband, practicing Yoga and Pilates, running, kayaking, and exploring the world of nutrition.
