Damia Kelly

I am a native of Charleston West Virginia,I have resided in Pinellas County Florida since 2003.
I graduation from West Virginia State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Upon moving to Florida I started a career in Child Welfare as a Dependency Case Manager. I remained in this
field and established a diversified history of employment to include; working as a placement
specialist for high risk youth that were associated with Developmental Services, Department of
Juvenile Justice and Dual Diagnosis. I have worked as an Independent Living Coordinator for youth aging out of foster care; I have managed a Transitional Housing Program for young adults that have aged out of foster care, I have worked as the Director of Youth Development for young adults that have aged out of foster care, I have worked as a contracted LMHC, and currently employed with Directions for Living as the Assistant Program Director of Children’s Behavioral Health Services. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling during September 2010 and became licensed in 2012.
When I have free time I love to spend it with my friends, family and dogs.
My teaching philosophy is very simple, I try to make everything I do as simple as possible, the world around us can be very complicated, learning doesn't have to be, it should be fun and
meaningful.
