Mrs. Johnston has been teaching speech courses full-time at St Petersburg College for 15  years.  Prior to that she  worked for 14 years at Eckerd College as Dir. of Marketing for Adult Programs and also as a presenter in the Leadership Development Program of the Management Development Institute.  Prior to that she taught for 8 years in Europe.

She has a bachelor's in English from Penn State University and a Master's in Rhetoric and Public Speaking from Emerson College.

She is a member of the National Communication Association, the Florida Communication Association, and the International Listening Association.
