I am a 1971 graduate (AA degree) of St. Petersburg Junior College, a 1973 graduate (BA degree) of the University of Florida, a 1977 graduate (MS degree) of Florida State University, and a 2000 graduate (Ed.D degree) of the University of Sarasota. I have worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor with the Blind and Visually Impaired, taught as an Adult Education Instructor, and did marketing for a Medical Clinic. I started at St. Petersburg College in 1993 as an adjunct Instructor teaching SLS 1301, PSY 1012, SYG 2000, and DEP 2004. I was an Academic and Career Counselor from 1995-2000, served as the Career Development Center Coodinator from 2000-2004, the Director of Student Success from 2004-2005, and was the Associate Provost on the Clearwater Campus from 2005 until my retirement in May of 2011..
I love working directly with students and have continued to teach SLS 1301 -'Career & Life Planning' since 1993 as an adjunct. I enjoy assisting students with identifying their interests, values, abilities, and personalities and helping them select a career that is compatible with who they are. I believe that higher education is the vehicle to becoming successful in the 'world of work' as well as contributing to a fulfilled life.
I have been married for 34 years to my wonderful husband, Ward, who I met at SPJC when we were both 18-year old freshman on the Clearwater Campus. We have three grown children who are pursuing their career dreams. I enjoy power walking, swimming, spending time with my family, and traveling. I am just completing an 8 country trip through Euope and Africa.
