Hello! I have been teaching math at St. Petersburg College for over ten years. I am one of those instructors who loves their subject! I encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes and embrace the learning process. Enthusiasm can be infectious - you might find things to like about math after taking a class with me.
This Fall semester I am looking forward to teaching Trigonometry, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Applied Calculus. I switch up the classes I teach each semester, so check back once we start planning for the summer and fall semester.
A little bit about me, I live in Pinellas County with my husband, two daughters and my cat, Seven (Just one cat named Seven - Not 7 cats!!). I like to hike, bike, backpack, garden - most outdoor activities. I read alot, mostly fiction books. I also like puzzles - crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, suduko, even working out math problems. And I like learning about math, what's new and how math is being used to increase our understanding of ourselves and our universe.
I am a graduate of Florida State University (B.S. - Mathematics Summa Cum Laude) and University of Texas at Austin (M.A. - Mathematics). In addition to SPC,
I have taught at University of Texas at Austin, Boise State University, University of Idaho, and California State University - Channel Islands. I've also worked in the enironmental field and in market research. I have lived all over the U.S, and traveled in Western Europe.
Hope to see you in class!
