I graduated with my A.A. in Dental Hygiene from Fairleigh Dickenson University in 1963 when I was 19 years old and practiced clinical dental hygiene almost continuously until 2001! I went back to school for my B.S. in midlife just as many of my students are doing. Later, with my proud family in the auditorium, I earned my Masters in Science degree at 54 from the University of Maryland ! I can relate to the mountains and valleys that my students experience during their exciting and challenging time in degree completion here at SPC. I wholeheartedly support their efforts and stand right beside them during their coursework!
I've been a face to face educator in Maryland, California and Florida for 25 years and was introduced to online teaching and learning in 2000. Currently, I am a faculty member in St. Petersburg's baccalaureate programs. I teach in both the Dental Hygiene and Health Service Administration programs. I am passionate about research. I have been published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene and the Journal of Dental Education. Currently, I have an interesting Case Study on rare male bulimia on the web. I designed the research & education courses for the HSA program at St. Petersburg College. They are challenging, interesting and hopefully great fun! I look forward to sharing these courses with each of my students....always hopeful that a bit of my passion for healthcare delivery, research & education will rub off on them!
In my "other" life my husband, Joe and I have been married for 47 years! We live in Bluffton, SC. We have 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren. We spend our free time playing golf, tennis, cooking, & enjoying our family!
Let's learn something together!!
