My name is Angela K. Dinh.  I currently am a Manager of Professional Practice Resources at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).  In my role with AHIMA, I provide professional expertise to develop AHIMA products and services aimed at furthering the art and science of health information management (HIM).  Specifically I am responsible for ongoing development in the areas of HIM in Physician Practice as well as HIPAA Security. 

Prior to joining AHIMA, I did some work as an HIM consultant traveling nationwide to assist in many HIM functions from abstracting to EHR solutions to interim management from client site to client site.  This included creating and implementing policies and procedures, analyzing and improving workflow, as wells as maintaining day to day operations.  Before consulting, I worked in various HIM roles including management in a healthcare software company.  My expertise, however, lies in physician practice implementation. I also have experience in the overall implementation process of EHRs and have hands-on experience with multiple EHR systems.  

I received my Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of South Florida and my Bachelor of Science degree in HIM from the University of Pittsburgh.  GO PANTHERS!
