I believe the educational experience is best represented by the following two quotations:  "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm" (Ralph Waldo Emerson) and "Nothing will work unless you do" (Maya Angelou).  I am committed to being a hard-working and enthusiastic instructor and dedicated to achieving course objectives by providing interesting, individualized, and challenging lessons of instruction.   

I received a B.A. in Communications from Virginia Tech and M.A. in English from the University of South Florida.  Since then I have studied writing at the University of Iowa and Harvard University.  My work background includes teaching and publishing.  Mind/body/spirit personal interests include reading, writing, weight lifting, kayaking, playing the ukulele, playing golf, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting hippopotami.
