Prof. Debbie Cross
Professor Cross received her B.A. in American Studies from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. While raising a family, she pursued her post graduate degree graduating from the University of South Florida in Sociology with a 4.0. Prof. Cross taught for 10 years at USF and was full time faculty with Kaplan University. She has also taught at Hillsborough Community College and five years at the University of Tampa. In addition to teaching for SPC, she is also on faculty at Barry University. Prof. Cross has been on faculty with SPC since 2007.
Prof. Cross's area of expertise is in the Sociology of Family, specifically youth culture. She has presented several papers at national professional organizations include "Sticks and Stones Can Break Your Bones, but Guns Can Kill You: a look at the Columbine shootings," and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: An exploration into the world of adolescent girls."
Prof. Cross lives in Tampa and has two grown children and a new son-in-law.
